It’s taken me along time to get here, over eighty-one years, to be precise. Sometimes it just takes a while before we smarten up. What’s the big lesson I’ve learned? It’s nothing new. In fact it’s one of the oldest truths we’ve heard: that if we value something and really want to get the most out of anything, we’ve got to share it. This goes for ideas, things, loves and hates. That which we cling on to and try to control, we lose. We stay small inside as our need for control grows. Only in sharing does our humanity flourish.

In our culture this idea has been a rather esoteric and theoretical thought until now, relegated to the saints or a bygone or fairy-tale existence.  Sharing was something you might do with your ice-cream, or among family. (Remember the time when Jesus said that those within his group were his ‘family’?

Sharing is no longer a simple option for the ‘unworldly’ or ‘spiritual’.  It should be obvious to all who are awake, that if we don’t really learn to share, our futures on this small planet are doomed. Only in real sharing does our species have a chance to undo the harm we’ve done, done in the name of progress and alone-ness. And we can’t share on a planetary level until we learn to share as individuals.

The good news is that in sharing, we soon become more happy, confident, healthy, loving and secure. This is not bad news, nothing to fear or dread. Not some punishment.

As of now, I’m declaring that I am trying to share, what-ever and when-ever I am. I am choosing to live in a shared home; all my available funds go to ventures that are based on sharing. I am trying to be honest. I will share my doubts, questions and certainties. I do this knowing that ‘sharing’ is, in a way, very selfish, in that in sharing, much more will be ‘coming my way’ than will be ‘leaving’ me. It’s the smartest ‘way’ for me to live, for any of us to live. It should be the standard by which we mold our children, ourselves, nations and the earth. If we aren’t doing this, we’re being stupid and illusional. Our needs to “get ahead’ or have ‘more’are self-destructive and evil, and should be named as such. The gods of our culture are wrong.

This web-site will be the hub for my sharing. In song, writings, and story, I will be sharing it all, not because I am so important, but because I know the sharing itselfis most important, not only for me, but for everyone, for all time. We are each unique and wonderful. If we don’t share what/who we are, we might as well not be born. Only that which is shared, continues after us. Let’s share our ‘light’, imperfections and all.  We’ve nothing to lose and everything to gain. So, at 81, here it goes.

            Why not come along?
